Sam Houston State University

Founded in 1879, Sam Houston State University is the only university in the Texas State University System classified as a Doctoral Research University by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education. The school has 5 colleges and approximately 16,000 enrolled students. The University offers seventy-eight undergraduate degree programs and fifty-four masters' programs.
