The Stuzo Guy on Future of Advertising

Gunter is the CEO of Stuzo. (He is better known as the "Stuzo guy.") His company is one of Facebook's exclusive development partners - that means they build custom social media apps.

Gunter discusses how websites like Facebook are changing the future of advertising. He states that advertising is becoming a two way conversation. In other words, the 'brand" needs to cultivate a friendship with the consumer. For newspapers, he believes that the same rules apply, and new models have to reflect this engagement.

Interesting view on the future of advertising, to say the least. Definitely agree that engagement is a good motive behind advertising!

It will be interesting to see what path newspapers take to try to survive in this new media era. I think that it is important for the consumer to have a voice. It makes sense for the brand to have a friendship with the consumer. This is was an intriguing interview.

This guy is legit. I feel like he really has a good idea about where advertising is going and how they can embrace the rapidly growing social networks. It sort of makes me excited about seeing the way advertising changes.

An interesting concept...that consumers can be "friends" with businesses, and that businesses should encourage this activity. Facebook as citizen journalism? Not so sure about that...I wouldn't say that taglines in newsfeeds like "I can't wait til the party this weekend!" or "Happy Halloween!" could be considered real educational news, a replacement for newspapers or TV and online news. Also, the idea that this new media is becoming a part of us as people is somewhat of an overstatement.

Definitely a little out there but this guy seems to be like a genius when it comes to this stuff. The fact that he was one of the main forces behind facebook really says a lot about him, he brings a lot to the table and makes technical stuff seem pretty interesting.
