Gerry Storch is the OurBlook editor, and former reporter and editor for the AP, Detroit News, Miami Herald and Gannett News Service. Paul Mongerson is the OurBlook founder, and author of "The Power Press: Its Impact on America and What You Can Do About It."

Gerry Storch administers, monitors and updates this blook under the direction of the site owner, and with the help of highly capable Internet consultants.

Gerry earned a B.A. in political science and an M.A. in journalism, both from the University of Michigan. He interned at the Detroit Free Press, served as a junior officer in the Navy, then started out with the AP in Richmond and Philadelphia. He became a feature writer at the Detroit News and Miami Herald, then returned to the News to become editor of the Accent section and editor of a newsroom investigative team of eight reporters. When Gannett/USA Today bought the paper in 1986, he transferred to company headquarters in Northern Virginia and served as night news editor, business editor and sports editor with Gannett News Service.

Paul Mongerson, who founded the site, is the author of "The Power Press: Its Impact on America and What You Can Do About It," Fulcrum Publishing, 1997, a book and textbook used in college journalism classes. It is available on amazon.com.

His latest project is to start this "blook" communication system to fill the gap between a book and a blog.

To do this, with professional help, he established a unique system of web-distributed, edited, collaborative communications and named it OurBlook. Hopefully the audience will come to know that the website tries to conform to more stringent organization and accuracy standards than usually found in a blog.

The OurBlook system could be used advantageously on a broad range of topics from politics and economics to sports. It would require an editor and monitoring and so it would be more costly to operate than a blog. However, it would provide users with a more organized, accurate and less scattered information source.
