Please note that the OurBlook editor serves as moderator for all submissions, including Blookers and commentators. Material will be reviewed to determine if it is topical and appropriate to the goals of the OurBlook community. Additionally, any offensive materials or comments will not be tolerated.

Gerry Storch - OurBlook Editor

OurBlook's editor, Gerry Storch, is an accomplished reporter and editor. From 1986 to 2001, Gerry served as the night news editor, business editor and sports editor of Gannett News Service, working out of USA Today's headquarters in northern Virginia. Previously, he worked for the Detroit News editing the Accent section and leading a team of eight investigative reporters. He also worked for the Miami Herald, the Associated Press in Richmond and Philadelphia, and interned at the Detroit Free Press. He served as a junior officer in the Navy and earned a B.A. in political science and M.A. in journalism from the University of Michigan.

Paul Mongerson - OurBlook Founder
For nearly 30 years, Mr. Mongerson has had an avocational interest in the news media. An engineer, businessman (chairman and CEO of Fortune 500 company Stanadyne Inc.) and inventor (10 patents), he is the author of the journalism textbook "The Power Press: Its Impact on America and What You Can Do About It" from Fulcrum Publishing.

 * Our readership is at an all-time high ... thank you! 

* Our roster of interviews includes NPR personality Bob Garfield, Wiki founder Jimmy Wales, Columbia U social media expert Prof. Sree Sreenivasan and former Wall Street Journal publisher Gordon Crovitz.

* Our university partnership is going strong, as U of Iowa journalism students posted class articles on our site last fall and will do so again this spring. We're also working with classes at Georgia, Villanova and Sam Houston State.

* We are nearing completion of a blook ... an online book synthesized from contributor interviews ... on the future of journalism ... 12 chapters on citizen journos, social media, new pay websites, digital readers, the journalist of the future, and more.

* The world is noticing: OurBlook has been mentioned in a profile of site founder Paul Mongerson in Gulf Coast Business Review, in articles by Gerry Storch and Sandy Ordonez in the Online Journalism Review of the Knight Digital Media Center, in the online business magazine Fast Company and in the Romenesko daily media news roundup.
